Privacy Policy — BioWaste Driver App
Effective Date: June 10, 2026 Last Updated: June 10, 2026
BioWaste LLC ("BioWaste," "we," "us," or "our"), located in Tullahoma, Tennessee, operates the BioWaste Driver mobile application (the "App"). The App is an internal workforce tool provided exclusively to employees and authorized contractors of BioWaste LLC ("drivers," "you") to manage daily routes, service stops, waste manifests, and related field operations.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By signing in to and using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
1. Who This App Is For
The App is not a consumer product. It is available only to individuals with a company-issued account. We do not knowingly collect information from members of the general public or from anyone under the age of 18.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account and Identity Information
- Name, work email address, and phone number
- Employee or contractor identifier
- Login credentials (passwords are stored in hashed form; we never store plain-text passwords)
2.2 Location Information
The App collects precise GPS location data from your device while you are clocked in or have an active route, including (where enabled) in the background, in order to:
- Provide turn-by-turn routing to scheduled stops
- Record proof of service at customer locations
- Allow dispatch to monitor route progress and respond to delays or emergencies
- Support compliance and safety requirements for regulated waste transportation
Location tracking is limited to active work sessions. You will see a prominent in-app disclosure and a system permission prompt before any location data is collected. You may disable location access in your device settings; however, the App requires location access to perform core route functions, and disabling it may prevent you from completing work tasks.
2.3 Service and Operational Data
- Route assignments, stop completions, timestamps, and service notes
- Waste manifest entries, container types and quantities
- Customer signatures captured electronically as proof of service
- Photos you take within the App to document pickups, containers, or service exceptions
2.4 Device and Diagnostic Information
- Device model, operating system version, and app version
- Crash logs and performance diagnostics
- Push notification tokens
2.5 Information We Do NOT Collect
The App does not collect your contacts, browsing history, health data, or financial information, and it does not access your photo library beyond images you explicitly capture or attach within the App.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Authenticate you and maintain your account
- Assign, display, and optimize daily routes
- Record completed services, generate manifests, and maintain chain-of-custody documentation
- Communicate dispatch updates, route changes, and operational notifications
- Meet legal and regulatory obligations, including DOT, OSHA, EPA, and Tennessee state requirements applicable to medical and hazardous waste transportation
- Investigate service disputes, safety incidents, or suspected misuse
- Maintain, debug, and improve the App
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to operate the business:
- Customers we service: Proof-of-service records (e.g., time of pickup, manifest details, signature confirmation) may be shared with the healthcare facility where the service occurred.
- Regulators and government agencies: Manifest and transportation records may be disclosed where required by DOT, EPA, state, or local regulations, or in response to lawful requests.
- Service providers: We use third-party providers for cloud hosting, data storage, push notifications, and crash reporting. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations.
- Legal protection: We may disclose information to comply with applicable law, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, safety, and property of BioWaste, our employees, or our customers.
We never sell personal information or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Data Retention
- Service records, manifests, and signatures are retained for as long as required by applicable waste-transportation and healthcare-compliance regulations.
- Location history tied to completed routes is retained for operational and compliance purposes and then deleted or anonymized in accordance with our internal retention schedules.
- Account information is retained for the duration of your employment or engagement and for a reasonable period afterward as required for legal, payroll, and compliance purposes.
6. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), authenticated API access, role-based access controls, and private cloud storage. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- Permissions: You can manage location, camera, and notification permissions in your device settings at any time. Certain permissions are required for core functionality.
- Access and correction: You may request access to or correction of your personal information by contacting us using the details below.
- Employment context: Because the App is a workplace tool, some data collection is a condition of performing driver duties. Questions about workplace data practices may also be directed to your supervisor or HR contact.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is intended solely for working adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy at this URL and update the "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by company communication channels.
